Opt-IVF supports both Antagonist and Agonist protocols.
So far, data from 5 studies is available including 3 prospective randomized control trials involving a total 607 patients of which 301 were in Opt-IVF groups and 306 in control groups. A fourth trial of 44 patients used retrospective controls, and the final study was a retrospective cohort study with 399 patients.
Opt-IVF uses the follicle sizes on two days – usually day 1 and day 5 of a stimulation cycle, obtained by ultrasonography, and the stimulatory hormone doses used on days 1 to 4 as its input. It then builds a model of follicle development and uses optimal control techniques to recommend hormone doses for the remainder of the cycle to maximize the number of mature follicles (size 18-22 mm) and also calculates the trigger date.
